3D Wire Scuplture

3D Sculpture

Here, we were given the task of creating a large 3D scuplture of and still life object of our choice. The sculpture was to be made of wire for the structure and tissue paper to add the colour and finish off the frame work to make it look like an actual object. For my sculpture, I choice to give myself a bit of a task so I decided to do a large basket and to fill it with a bottle of wine, a blanket, a sausage roll, a Plate and Spoon and finally a cup/mug.

To be honest, this was my least favourite thing todo so far as it was very painful and very annoying to have the paitence of doing it. It was a very time consuming piece only because ending the ends of the wire to tighten it securely was painful on the fingers as it was quite sharp and very hard to reach into the centre of it without destroying any of the frame work. Sticking the tissue paper was also a struggle because guessing the proportions of the sides and hoping it fit was quite a hard task as it's 3D I wasn't really able to measure them up against the paper so it was a guessing game when doing th evil or aspect of the piece.

In the future o don't see myself following this technique through as it wasn't he most enjoyable piece for me todo and it wasn't really something I see fitting into my own asthetic/ personal work however it was good trying out as I've never done anything like that before.
