Batik

Batik Piece's

Here, we were set the task to create 3 A3 pieces of work using he technique of Batik. To start off l, we had to heat up the wax balls in the heater where it would condense down into a hot liquid form that we will later be able to use to draw with. Once the heating process was done we used a batik tool that was able to contain the wax safely and had a whole at the point in a pencil shape to make it easier to draw with but also to still be accurate and stable. The problem with this technique is that is the tool isoht of the heater for more than enough time, it will freeze back into a solid state and block the opening therefor me stopping the ability to draw.

For me personally, I enjoy using this technique as it was very free and allowed me to try something new that I hadn't used before which I found very interesting. I am very happy with the outcome of my batik pieces as they are very bright and the ink that we used worked very well against the candle wax. They also blended very nice which I also liked, they also have a very japenese vibe to them which I really like as it's very different and unique.
