Mark Making and Ink Drawings

Mark Making and Ink Drawings

Here, I was given a box full of random materials e.g. An Acorn, String, Lollipop Stems, Wire and so on. With these materials, I was also given a pink ink pot, with these two items I had to create a chart of eight squares and label each one with each of the items in the box. I had to manipulate each of the items into creating different marks which I would then use later on in the drawings we had to produce . I enjoyed doing this as I was able to see how each item would be able to cooperate twowards the drawings and wether or not they worked well as a mark Making tool.

When drawing from the still life setup I used paper towel and the lollipop stems and just about that really, they were the only two items I felt the most comfortable using after testing them all out. I am happy with my outcomes however I don't like them personally, I just don't find them exciting or have any characteristics about them that make them stand out, and they don't resemble me through them which I don't like, to improve I could spend some more time on them and add more colour possibly which I think would make them stand it more and be more exciting.

  1. IT IS PLEASING TO READ POSITIVE EXPERIENCES FROM THIS WORK, I REALISE IT WAS SOMETHING YOU HADN'T ATTEMPTED BEFORE, AS THE COURSE GOES ON IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO REFLECT BACK ON AND COMPARE AND CONTRAST THE DIFFERING WORK ING PRACTICES.
