Stretching Paper

Stetching Paper

Today, as a class we began to stretch paper which later ok we would begin to paint onto. We started off by taping down our A3 sheets onto a wooden board with some gumtape, we then wet out paper whilst in the gum tape to remove any of the air sockets or unwanted lumps and bumps in the paper. We then left this to dry over a couple of days. During that period of drying we used white acrylic paint to create a textured background onto the paper and also allowing us to create some hidden shapes on the paper. We then began to start painting on top in a layered form followed by the artist Klimt. In my opinion, I enjoyed stretching the paper as it was a technique that I had never experienced doing before and this also allowed me to try a new style of abstract art that I have never attempted todo. To improve o could refer back to my artist more and also relate further into the Palm House studies by evidencing with my own pictures/ support drawings. Since then, i have presented my final outcomes along with all of my compositions and my artist research of Eric Blum.
